If you sell events on Shopify, the app you choose sets your cost structure for as long as you keep selling. Four of the five apps below take a cut of every ticket or a percentage of revenue. One doesn't. That is the difference that compounds, and it is the one most comparison posts skip.

This comparison is written by one of the five. So here is how to read it: every figure about another app is quoted from that app's own Shopify App Store listing, with the date it was checked, and where a listing does not answer a question this page says "not mentioned" rather than guessing on a competitor's behalf. Where a rival beats us, it says so.

What was checked, and when

All figures verified 1 September 2026 from these listings:

Event Calendar: Tickets & RSVPEvent Calendar Appapps.shopify.com/event-calendar-app4.739

Two things worth noticing in that table before anything else. Evey has more than eight times our review count, which is a real signal about how long an app has been trusted and by how many merchants. And GM Event Ticketing carries Shopify's Built for Shopify badge — Shopify's own mark for apps meeting its highest standards for performance, design and integration. Of the five here, GM is the only one that has it. We don't.

How these five were picked

Ranked on: whether the app is built for ticketing rather than appointments; what it costs at real volume; how deeply it integrates with Shopify itself; what the buyer receives after checkout; and whether it handles reserved seating. Third-party signals — rating, review count, the Built for Shopify badge — are reported rather than ranked on, because review counts mostly measure age.

One app that appears on other lists is absent here. BookThatApp, now the BTA Appointment Booking App, is a strong appointments tool with 4.7 stars across 391 reviews, but its listing mentions no PDF tickets, no Apple Wallet, no QR check-in and no ticketing. It belongs on a bookings comparison, not this one.

What these apps actually cost

Start here, because pricing pages are where the models diverge and monthly fees alone will mislead you.

Event CalendarBusiness$199$0$199.00
EveyStandard$49$200$249.00
GM Event TicketingProfessional$99$200$299.00

Note what the cheapest plan is in each case, because it is not always the obvious one. Evey Standard at $49 beats Evey Professional at $189 here, since the $0.25 saving per ticket does not yet cover the $140 difference in monthly fee. The same inversion applies to GM. And Event Calendar lands on its $199 tier not because of features but because $10,000 in monthly ticket sales blows through the $3,000 cap on the tier below.

Assumptions: one attendee per ticket, sold inside a single 30-day billing period, at a $25 face value. Payment processing fees are excluded on all five — you pay those to your processor either way — as are your Shopify subscription and Shopify's own transaction fees. Ticket Spot Professional includes roughly 500 attendees a month, so 400 sits inside the plan.

20 tickets at $25 each, where we lose

AppCheapest workable planTotal
EveyLite$20.00
GM Event TicketingOn Demand$20.00
Ticket SpotProfessional$29.99
Event CalendarHobby$39.99
ExperiencesPremium$42.75

At low volume a per-ticket fee is simply cheaper than a subscription, and no feature table changes that. Ticket Spot's free plan does not rescue this: it issues free tickets only and caps you at 20 attendees a month, so if you are selling anything the plan to compare is Professional at $29.99.

The crossover against both $1-per-ticket plans is 30 tickets a month. Below it, install Evey Lite or GM On Demand. Above it, a flat fee costs less every month, and the gap widens with every ticket you sell.

Experiences is the interesting one, because a percentage tracks your revenue rather than your ticket count. Its Basic plan is $9 plus 1%, but the listing caps that at "Up to 100 bookings or $100 in sales/month" — so it only applies to genuinely tiny programmes. Above that you are on Premium, where the percentage stays modest at low ticket prices and grows with your average order value.

The five apps

1. Ticket Spot — best if you sell more than 30 tickets a month

5.0 stars, 38 reviews. $0 / $29.99 / $99 / $149 a month. No per-ticket fee on any plan.

Ticket Spot is a flat-fee ticketing app with a Ticket Selector app block you can drop onto the Shopify product page, replacing the default variant dropdown with a calendar, a time-slot grid and remaining-capacity indicators. The app block is optional — a Ticket Spot event sells fine through Shopify's ordinary variant selector with no theme changes — but a list of thirty dates in a dropdown stops being readable quickly. A matching Thank-You Page block puts the ticket, the Wallet pass and an add-to-calendar link on Shopify's own order status page.

What comes with which plan, since that is the question a pricing page should answer and most don't:

  • Professional, $29.99 — paid, free and donation tickets; PDF tickets with QR codes; Apple and Google Wallet passes; the mobile scan and check-in app; timed entry with arrival windows; instant ticket download on the Shopify thank-you page; roughly 500 attendees a month
  • Business, $99 — interactive seating charts with rows, tables, sections, seat categories and general-admission zones; waitlists; event add-ons; digital waivers; on-site POS ticket sales; Zapier; sales and check-in analytics; 500 SMS credits; roughly 1,500 attendees
  • Business+, $149 — full white-label mode, custom domains, venue floor-plan uploads, multi-floor venues, Mailchimp, priority support; 2,000 SMS credits; roughly 2,500 attendees
  • Free, $0 — free tickets only, up to 5 events visible and 20 attendees a month. It cannot sell a paid ticket.

Where it loses. Thirty-eight reviews against Evey's 314 is a real gap in track record. There is no Built for Shopify badge. There is no Shopify POS scanning plugin, which GM has on its free tier. And at under 30 tickets a month it is the more expensive choice.

Best for: Shopify stores selling events at volume — venues, studios, tour operators, festivals, wine shops running regular tastings — especially anything that needs reserved seating without a $189 plan, or a real date-and-time picker on the product page.

Install Ticket Spot on Shopify, or read the Shopify integration hub first.

2. Evey Events & Tickets — the most established, and the most complete competitor

4.5 stars, 314 reviews. $0 + $1.00 / $19 + $0.75 / $49 + $0.50 / $189 + $0.25 per ticket.

Evey is the biggest ticketing app on this list by a wide margin, and its listing is broader than we used to give it credit for. An earlier version of this page claimed Evey had no seating charts, no Apple Wallet and no Klaviyo. All three were wrong, and they are corrected here.

From the listing:

  • Lite, free + $1.00/ticket — unlimited events and ticket types, tickets by email, web, PDF and Apple, attendee info collected at checkout, an events calendar, attendee import and export, QR check-in
  • Growth, $19 + $0.75 — recurring events, faster check-in
  • Standard, $49 + $0.50 — messaging to attendees, the ability to collect your own fees on each ticket
  • Professional, $189 + $0.25Klaviyo and Mailchimp integrations, built-in reserved seating, multi-vendor dashboard access, priority support

Shopify Flow is listed among its integrations. Google Wallet, SMS and a product-page app block are not mentioned.

Where it wins over Ticket Spot. Track record, plainly: 314 reviews against 38. Below 30 tickets a month, Lite is cheaper than anything we offer. And Shopify Flow appears on its listing and not on ours.

Where it costs more. Reserved seating sits on the $189 plan; ours is on the $99 plan. And the per-ticket fee never goes away — at 400 tickets a month, the cheapest Evey configuration is $249 against $29.99.

There is a longer head-to-head at Ticket Spot vs Evey Events, including the volumes where Evey is genuinely the cheaper choice.

Best for: merchants who want the most-reviewed option, who sell at low volume, or who need Shopify Flow.

3. GM Event Ticketing — the only Built for Shopify app here

4.9 stars, 46 reviews. Built for Shopify. $0 + $1.00 / $19 + $0.75 / $99 + $0.50 / $999 + $0.25 per ticket.

Guest Manager's app is the best-rated on this list and the only one carrying Shopify's Built for Shopify badge — awarded, in Shopify's words, for meeting "our highest standards for performance, design, and integration". If platform-native quality is your first filter, start here rather than with us.

Its free On Demand tier is unusually capable: PDF and Apple Wallet ticket design, a check-in and scanning app, and a Shopify POS scanning plugin, all before you pay a monthly fee. Google Wallet and a theme app block are also mentioned. Advanced at $19 adds free tickets, an external admin app, emailed tickets and an event calendar. Professional at $99 adds Shopify Flow triggers, booking and service fees, and customer self-exchanges. Plus+ at $999 is agency-tier support.

Reserved seating, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, SMS and recurring events are not mentioned on the listing.

Where it wins over Ticket Spot. The Built for Shopify badge, a higher rating from more reviews, and Shopify POS scanning on the free tier — we have on-site POS ticket sales on Business at $99, and no POS scanning plugin.

Where it costs more. The per-ticket fee, and a steeper ladder than Evey's: reaching the $0.25 rate means the $999 plan. At 400 tickets a month the cheapest GM configuration is $299.

Best for: merchants who sell in person as well as online, who want Shopify POS scanning, or who weight Shopify's own quality mark heavily.

4. Experiences: Events & Tickets — cheapest for low-value bookings

4.8 stars, 77 reviews. $9 + 1% / $39 + 0.75% / $129 + 0.5% of booking revenue.

Experiences is priced as a share of revenue rather than per ticket, which makes it the cheapest option here whenever your average order value is low. It is aimed at bookable experiences — tours, tastings, classes — rather than seated events.

The listing mentions Shopify POS, scannable QR codes, an iOS eTicket check-in app, Mailchimp and Zapier. Plans are banded by volume: Basic covers "up to 100 bookings or $100 in sales/month", Premium up to 1,000 bookings or $10,000, Preferred above that. A 14-day free trial is offered.

Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, Klaviyo, SMS, reserved seating, recurring events and a product-page app block are not mentioned.

Where it wins over Ticket Spot. At small scale it is genuinely cheap — $9 plus 1% is hard to beat if you are taking under $100 a month. It is also the only app here with a free trial stated on the listing.

Where it costs more. A percentage grows with your revenue rather than your ticket count, so a high average order value gets expensive quickly. At 400 tickets at $25 it is $114 against $29.99.

Best for: tour and experience operators with low ticket prices and no seating requirement.

5. Event Calendar: Tickets & RSVP — calendar-first, no check-in

4.7 stars, 39 reviews. $39.99 / $60 / $199 a month, with monthly ticket sales capped by plan.

This one is built around a browsable calendar widget on your storefront rather than around the ticket. Customers browse upcoming events, RSVP or buy. Paid ticket sales are supported, but each plan caps them: $1,000 a month on Hobby, $3,000 on Scale, $20,000 on Business. Plans are also limited by widget count, team members and monthly RSVPs.

PDF tickets, Apple Wallet, QR check-in, reserved seating, Klaviyo and Mailchimp are not mentioned on the listing.

Where it wins over Ticket Spot. A calendar-first browsing experience is its whole design, and if event discovery on your storefront is the problem you are solving, that focus is worth something.

Where it costs more. It is the most expensive entry point on this list at $39.99, and the sales caps mean your bill rises with revenue much like a percentage would. Without check-in or scanning on the listing, you would be handling door admission some other way.

Best for: stores running frequent free or RSVP-based community events, where discovery matters more than admission control.

Capability comparison

Verified 1 September 2026. "Not mentioned" is not the same as "absent" — it means the app's listing does not claim the capability, and this page will not claim it either way on a competitor's behalf. Ticket Spot entries carry the plan the feature actually starts on.

The Klaviyo note. Ticket Spot's Shopify App Store listing names Klaviyo among its integrations and the integration is real, but Klaviyo does not appear as a gated row on our own published plan matrix, so there is no plan we can honestly attach to it. Evey's does appear on its listing, on Professional at $189. Rather than write "Yes" into a competitor table on the strength of a claim we cannot source from our own pricing page, this row says so. It will carry a plan when our pricing page carries one.

Which one should you choose

Choose Evey if you sell under about 30 tickets a month, where Lite at $1 a ticket costs less than any flat plan here; if a long review history matters to you more than feature depth; or if you need Shopify Flow.

Choose GM Event Ticketing if you scan tickets at the door through Shopify POS, or if Shopify's Built for Shopify badge is the signal you trust most. Its free tier is the most capable free tier on this list.

Choose Experiences if you run low-priced bookable experiences and a small percentage of revenue costs you less than a subscription would.

Choose Event Calendar if what you actually need is an attractive events calendar on your storefront for free or RSVP events, and door admission is handled elsewhere.

Choose Ticket Spot if you sell more than about 30 tickets a month, where every per-ticket fee starts compounding against you; if you need reserved seating below Evey's $189 tier; if your events run on schedules and need timed entry with arrival windows; or if you want the product page itself to become a real booking interface rather than a variant dropdown.

The verdict

For a store selling tickets in any volume, the cost model is the whole argument. At 400 tickets a month, the cheapest workable plan on each app runs $29.99, $114, $199, $249 and $299 — and the four above us scale with your sales while the first does not. Reserved seating also arrives two price tiers lower with us than with the only other app on this list that offers it.

For a store selling a handful of tickets a year, none of that applies. Evey Lite and GM On Demand cost $20 where we cost $29.99, and GM's free tier will hand you Apple Wallet tickets and a POS scanner without a subscription at all. Both things are true; which one is true for you is arithmetic, not judgement.

Every number on this page was checked on 1 September 2026 against the listings linked at the top. App Store pricing changes without notice — if you are making a decision on these figures, it is worth spending two minutes confirming them.

Try Ticket Spot

Install Ticket Spot from the Shopify App Store, or start with the Shopify integration hub to see how it fits your store before installing anything. If seating is your reason for looking, Shopify seating charts walks through the seat-map builder, and full pricing lists every plan gate quoted above.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on how many tickets you sell. Four of the five apps here charge either a per-ticket fee or a percentage of revenue, so their cost rises with your sales; Ticket Spot charges a flat monthly fee and nothing per ticket. Below roughly 30 tickets a month, Evey's Lite plan and GM Event Ticketing's On Demand plan are cheaper at $1 per ticket. Above that, flat pricing wins and the gap widens with every ticket. If you need Shopify POS scanning, GM Event Ticketing is the only app here carrying Shopify's Built for Shopify badge.

Evey Events & Tickets charges $1.00 per ticket on Lite, $0.75 on Growth, $0.50 on Standard and $0.25 on Professional. GM Event Ticketing charges the same four rates on its equivalent plans. Experiences charges a percentage of booking revenue instead — 1% on Basic, 0.75% on Premium, 0.5% on Preferred. Event Calendar charges a flat fee but caps monthly ticket sales by plan. Ticket Spot charges no per-ticket fee on any plan. All figures verified from each app's Shopify App Store listing on 1 September 2026.

Two of the five. Ticket Spot includes interactive seating charts on its Business plan at $99 a month, and adds venue floor-plan uploads, multi-floor venues and table sales on Business+ at $149. Evey lists 'Built-in reserved seating' on its Professional plan at $189 a month plus $0.25 per ticket. GM Event Ticketing, Experiences and Event Calendar do not mention seating on their listings.

Three of the five list it. Ticket Spot includes Apple and Google Wallet tickets from Professional at $29.99 a month. Evey lists Apple tickets from its free Lite plan. GM Event Ticketing lists both Apple and Google Wallet from its free On Demand plan. Experiences and Event Calendar do not mention Wallet passes on their listings.

Two apps let you install free and pay per ticket sold: Evey's Lite plan and GM Event Ticketing's On Demand plan, both at $1.00 per ticket. Ticket Spot has a free plan, but it issues free tickets only and caps you at 20 attendees a month — selling paid tickets starts at $29.99. If you are running a handful of small paid events a year, a pay-per-ticket plan will cost you less than any flat monthly fee.

Of the five compared here, only GM Event Ticketing by Guest Manager carries it. Built for Shopify is Shopify's own quality mark for apps meeting its highest standards for performance, design and integration. Ticket Spot does not currently carry it, and neither do Evey, Experiences or Event Calendar. Verified 1 September 2026.
