Ticket Spot vs Evey Events: An Honest Shopify Ticketing Comparison

Ticket Spot and Evey Events & Tickets are two of the better-known ticketing apps on the Shopify App Store. This is a comparison written by one of them, so here is how to read it: every Evey figure below is quoted from Evey's own App Store listing with the date it was checked, and anywhere the listing does not answer a question, this page says so instead of guessing.

Evey figures verified 24 August 2026 from the Evey Events & Tickets listing on the Shopify App Store, which showed 4.5 stars across 315 reviews. Nothing here is taken from Evey's marketing site — when that was checked it gave a set of plan prices that disagreed with the App Store listing, and the listing is what a merchant is actually billed against.

The short version

Evey charges a per-ticket fee on every plan. Ticket Spot charges none on any plan. That single difference drives most of what follows, and it means the honest answer to "which is cheaper" is it depends entirely on how many tickets you sell.

Below roughly 30 tickets a month, Evey is cheaper. Above it, Ticket Spot is, and the gap grows with every ticket.

Pricing

This is the section most comparisons get wrong, including the earlier version of this page: Evey's monthly fees are easy to find and its per-ticket fees are easy to leave out. Left out, they make Evey look substantially cheaper than it is.

What each app charges

AppPlanMonthlyPer ticket
Ticket SpotFree$0— (free tickets only, 20 attendees)
Ticket SpotProfessional$29.99$0
Ticket SpotBusiness$99$0
Ticket SpotBusiness+$149$0
EveyLite$0$1.00
EveyGrowth$19$0.75
EveyStandard$49$0.50
EveyProfessional$189$0.25

One clarification on our own pricing, because "free plan" is doing different work on each side. Ticket Spot's free plan issues free tickets only — it cannot sell a paid ticket. Evey's Lite plan is free to install and does sell paid tickets, taking $1 from each. If you are selling anything, the Ticket Spot plan to compare against is Professional at $29.99.

What that costs at 400 tickets a month

PlanMonthlyTicketsTotal
Ticket Spot Professional$29.99$0$29.99
Evey Standard$49$200$249.00
Evey Professional$189$100$289.00
Evey Growth$19$300$319.00
Evey Lite$0$400$400.00

Note the ordering. Evey's Standard plan is cheaper than its Professional plan at this volume, because the per-ticket saving does not yet cover the $140 difference in monthly fee. Those two cross at about 560 tickets a month. If you need Evey's reserved seating, Klaviyo or Mailchimp you are on Professional regardless of what the arithmetic says, since all three are gated there.

Where Evey is cheaper

At $1 per ticket on a free plan, Evey Lite costs less than Ticket Spot Professional until you are selling about 30 tickets a month. If you run two or three small events a year, Evey Lite will cost you less than any paid Ticket Spot plan, and no amount of feature comparison changes that.

Assumptions for all of the above: one attendee per ticket, sold inside a single 30-day billing period. Payment processing fees are excluded on both sides — you pay those to your processor either way — as are your Shopify subscription and Shopify's own transaction fees. Ticket Spot Professional includes roughly 500 attendees a month, so 400 tickets sits inside the plan.

Capability comparison

The table separates what Evey's listing states from what it does not mention. "Not stated" is not the same as "absent" — it means the listing does not claim it, and this page will not claim it either way on Evey's behalf.

Three rows deserve comment, because the earlier version of this page got them wrong.

Reserved seating. This page used to say Evey "doesn't include a visual seat map builder". Its listing plainly advertises "Built-in reserved seating" on the Professional plan, so that claim is gone. The accurate difference is not whether Evey has seating — it does — but what it costs to reach it: $189 a month against $99.

SMS. This page used to credit Evey with SMS ticket delivery. Evey's listing does not mention SMS anywhere, so the claim has been removed rather than left standing as an unverified point in a competitor's favour. Ticket Spot does not offer SMS delivery either, and that row is a genuine "no" for us.

Custom domains and Mailchimp. The earlier version listed both as flat advantages for Ticket Spot. Both are real, and both are Business+ at $149 rather than included throughout, so they are quoted with their plan gate like every other row.

There is one deliberate absence. Ticket Spot's Klaviyo integration is documented elsewhere on this site but does not appear in the verified feature list on our own pricing page, and that discrepancy is unresolved internally. Rather than put a capability in a competitor table that we cannot currently substantiate from our own pricing page, it is left out of the table entirely. It will go in when the pricing page and the marketing pages agree.

Shopify integration

This is the difference that is hardest to see on a pricing page and easiest to feel once the store is live.

Ticket Spot provides a Ticket Selector app block you place on the Shopify product page, replacing the default variant dropdown with a calendar, a time-slot grid and remaining-capacity indicators. It is optional — a Ticket Spot event sells perfectly well through Shopify's ordinary variant selector with no theme changes at all — but for anything with a schedule, a list of dates in a dropdown stops being readable quickly. There is a matching Thank-You Page block that puts the ticket, the Apple Wallet pass and an add-to-calendar link on Shopify's own order status page.

Evey's listing does not mention a product-page app block or theme app extension. That is the extent of what can be said from the listing, and this page will not characterise how Evey's buying experience looks beyond it.

For the detail on either of these, the Shopify integration hub covers installation and both storefront paths, and QR code tickets for Shopify orders covers what the buyer receives after checkout.

Seating and scheduling

Both apps do reserved seating. The differences worth knowing are the price gate and the depth.

Ticket Spot includes an interactive seat-map builder on Business at $99 — seat rows, tables and sections, seat categories with their own prices, and general-admission zones. Uploading your own venue floor plan behind the map is Business+ at $149. Buyers pick actual seats on the Shopify product page. There is a full walkthrough in Shopify seating charts.

Evey's listing lists built-in reserved seating on Professional at $189. It does not describe the builder, so this page does not either.

On scheduling, Evey's listing puts recurring events on Growth at $19. Ticket Spot's timed-entry support — arrival windows with their own capacity, expanded automatically into Shopify variants — is covered in timed-entry ticketing for Shopify, including its limits: capacity is per slot and never pooled, and a schedule cannot exceed Shopify's 2,048 variants per product.

Who should choose Evey

A comparison with no version of this section is an advert. There are real cases for Evey:

  • You sell under about 30 tickets a month. Evey Lite costs less than any Ticket Spot paid plan at that volume. This is the strongest case and it is purely arithmetic.
  • You are already on Evey and it works. Migration has a cost that a feature table does not show. If nothing on this page describes a problem you actually have, that is a reason to stay.
  • You use Shopify Flow. Evey lists Shopify Flow among its integrations; Ticket Spot's listing does not.
  • Attendee data capture at checkout is your main requirement. Evey's listing leads with it — collecting sizing, interests and similar during checkout — which suggests it is a focus rather than an afterthought.

Who should choose Ticket Spot

  • You sell more than about 30 tickets a month, where a per-ticket fee starts compounding against you. At 400 a month the difference is roughly $219.
  • You need reserved seating without a $189 plan. Seating charts start at $99, and floor-plan uploads at $149.
  • You want tickets on the thank-you page. The Thank-You Page block is on Professional at $29.99.
  • Your events have schedules. Timed entry, arrival windows and per-slot capacity are core rather than an add-on.
  • You want the product page itself to change, with a calendar and slot grid in place of a variant dropdown.

The verdict

If you sell tickets in any volume, the per-ticket fee is the whole argument. Evey's cheapest realistic plan at 400 tickets a month costs $249 against Ticket Spot's $29.99, and that gap scales linearly with every ticket you sell. Reserved seating also arrives two price tiers lower with us, at $99 rather than $189.

If you sell a handful of tickets a year, none of that applies and Evey Lite is the cheaper tool. Both things are true, and which one is true for you is a question of volume rather than judgement.

Frequently asked questions

At most volumes, yes — but not all of them. Evey charges a per-ticket fee on every plan, so its cost rises with every ticket you sell, while Ticket Spot Professional is $29.99 a month with no per-ticket fee. The two cross at roughly 30 tickets a month. Below that, Evey's free Lite plan at $1 per ticket is cheaper. Above it, the gap widens quickly: at 400 tickets in a month, the cheapest Evey plan works out at $249 against $29.99.

Yes. Evey's Shopify App Store listing lists 'Built-in reserved seating' as a feature of its Professional plan, at $189 a month. Ticket Spot includes interactive seating charts on Business, at $99 a month, and adds venue floor-plan uploads on Business+ at $149. Both apps do reserved seating; they gate it at different prices.

It depends on the plan. Lite is free to install and charges $1.00 per ticket processed. Growth is $19 a month plus $0.75 per ticket. Standard is $49 a month plus $0.50 per ticket. Professional is $189 a month plus $0.25 per ticket. Verified from Evey's Shopify App Store listing on 24 August 2026.

It changes with volume, and not in the order you would expect. Because the per-ticket fee falls as the monthly fee rises, Standard at $49 is cheaper than Professional at $189 until you pass roughly 560 tickets a month, at which point Professional overtakes it. If you need Evey's reserved seating, its Klaviyo integration or its Mailchimp integration, all three sit on Professional, so the choice is made for you regardless of volume.

Not paid ones. The free plan covers up to 20 attendees a month and issues free tickets only. Selling paid tickets starts on Professional at $29.99 a month. This is worth being clear about, because 'free plan' means something different here than it does on Evey's Lite plan, which does sell paid tickets and takes $1 from each one.

Choose Evey if you sell fewer than about 30 tickets a month, where its Lite plan costs less than any Ticket Spot paid plan, or if you are already running it and it does what you need. Its listing also emphasises attendee data collection at checkout and Shopify Flow support. Choose Ticket Spot if you sell above that volume, if you want seating below Evey's $189 tier, or if you want a product-page app block rather than the standard variant selector.
