The Deadlians are a Dublin-based five-piece who have quietly built a devoted cult following through their distinctive blend of folk, punk rock and psychedelic influences. Fronted by songwriter, poet, storyteller and balladeer Sean Fitzgerald, the band creates music that feels rooted in Irish tradition while pushing confidently into new territory.
Since forming in 2017, The Deadlians have developed a sound defined by driving rhythms, evocative guitar work, humming synths and inventive vocal arrangements. Their songs move seamlessly between traditional folk storytelling, alternative rock energy and psychedelic explorations, creating performances that are both captivating and unpredictable.
Drawing from Ireland’s rich folk heritage while embracing a darker, more contemporary edge, The Deadlians have become one of the most unique voices in the country’s alternative folk scene. Their melodic songwriting, powerful live shows and fiercely independent spirit have earned them a reputation as one of Ireland’s best-kept musical secrets.
The Deadlians play Block Party at Bank Lane, Waterford, on Saturday 22 August.
Admission is free.
