Have you ever wanted to feel like an old portrait artist painting in a smokey French salon? This pride month, celebrate LGBTQ+ history, art, and fashion with Queer Gilded Age Historic Portraiture!

Historic Portraiture at The Loov is your chance to work from two live historic interpreters modeling exquisite and historically accurate Gilded Age gown and suit. Campy, historic, and bourgeois all in one night.

First, you'll get a look at the undergarments and structure of 19th century clothing by doing warm up sketches with short poses in undergarments. We'll talk fashion and underwear history, so chic.

Then, watch how an 19th century folks would get dressed and draw or paint a 1hr long pose.

The Loov is located at 72 Joy Street Studios, Somerville. Right off the East Somerville green line T stop and multiple bus lines with a free parking lot in front!
